2020 PRSA Silver Anvil Finalist

Manitou Springs was shocked to learn their high school was targeted by the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), known for blistering protests against the gay community, celebrating soldiers’ funerals and a long history of suing for any infringement of their free speech. Equally concerning was the potential counter-
protestors’ response in an open carry state. M&C Communications developed a proactive school, community and media communications strategy to promote a safe protest/counter-protest while honoring 1st Amendment rights. 

2017 PRSA Colorado Gold Pick Award

Longtime Coloradans and some members of the local media remember the listeria issue of 2011, which wasn't caused by Rocky Ford Cantaloupe but was associated with the Rocky Ford name. M&C partnered with RFGA to correct the association between its melons and listeria through positive coverage of the Association’s food safety protocols, family farms, stewardship, and quality.

2017 PRSA Colorado Silver Pick Winner

M&C works with Lung Cancer Foundation of America to boost awareness of the non-profit's mission, develop a Speakers Bureau of trained lung cancer patient activists who conduct outreach on the group's behalf, create a ground-breaking patient-led video series about lung cancer called Hope With Answers, social media video content, and collaborate with LCFA's marketing team.

Monarch Casino Resort Spa

2017 PRSA Colorado Silver Pick Award Winner

M&C works with Monarch Casino Resort Spa to  provide a public relations campaign for Monarch Casino Black Hawk during demolition of their 6-story parking garage next to environmentally sensitive Clear Creek in December 2016. The demolition PR plan won the PRSA Colorado Silver Anvil Award.


M&C was subsequently retained to provide on-going public relations services throughout completion of Monarch's 23-story hotel tower construction, expansion and opening.

Rocky Ford Growers Association

2015 PRSA Colorado Gold Pick Winner

M&C designed a plan to remind consumers that Rocky Ford Cantaloupes are the best and safest melons in the world, available only for a short time each summer. M&C also designed a series of events to drive media engagement throughout the growing season: planting day, weather events, first day of harvest, first box of cantaloupes to the Governor. To enhance Millennial interest, M&C developed a plan that included custom craft beer, restaurant partnerships, tapping events, and influencer marketing.

Urban Putt Denver

Denver, CO

M&C worked with Urban Putt throughout its introduction and debut in the Denver market. The fantastical, steampunk-inspired indoor mini-golf venue featuring upscale comfort food and a craft-driven bar brings a new level of excitement and fun to LoDo. M&C helped manage intense media interest throughout the project, including several thoroughly researched articles about the rich history and careful updates made to the historic Denver building. A highly successful and well-attended media/influencer night party introduced the venue to a broad and strategic target audience.

M&C charted a campaign to make drivers in Greenwood Village aware of the city's four red light camera locations and the danger of red-light running.

M&C worked with Grateful Bread company to drive brand recognition and credibility with local foodie target audience who didn’t realize they were eating Grateful Bread products when enjoying meals at high-end restaurants, develop partnership with Aspen FOOD&WINE Classic, nominate Grateful Bread for numerous awards, initiate a consistent social media presence on Facebook, plan and execute a 10th Anniversary Party involving well-known chefs from the restaurants that serve Grateful Bread products, and partner with a local food-related charity organization to support at the event.
